Dr Bach Flower Remedies

What are Flower Remedies?

We sell flower remedies supplied by Healing Herbs ltd of Hereford.

Dr Edward Bach (1886 - 1936) discovered flower remedies that would help such feelings as grief, worry and irritation. Further medical research led him to understand that much of our ill health is caused by our emotional or mental state not in the physical body.

He found plants that bring hope to the desolate, strength to the exhausted and comfort to the distressed.

Each of the negative states he describes has a positive and negative aspect. Dr Bach saw these negative conditions as the real cause of illness and disease.

Flower remedies promote good health by helping to improve our emotional state, bringing harmony, happiness and health.

The remedies are made by filling a thin glass bowl with spring water and floating the flowers on the surface. Sunshine helps  to release the fluid, living forces of nature into the water.

The remedies are prepared precisely according to the original directions of Dr Edward Bach as given in his book: The Twelve Healers & Other Remedies, 1936 edition.

They are preserved in full-strength (40% alcohol) Brandy, using the classic dilution of 1:400 - the equivalent of two drops of mother essence in a 30ml solution of pure Brandy. This dilution is 'stock strength' accoring to Nora Weeks' book: The Bach Flower Remedies - Illustrations and Preparation, 1964 edition.
